Main Introduction of Small DC Arc Furnace:
Submerged Arc Furnace is also called as resistance arc furnace. Its electrode is inserted into solid material (such as concentrate ore or raw ore) or liquid molten mass. It melts the furnace materials by the micro arc heat came out between the electrode and furnace material, as well as the resistance heat of the molten mass. (When the voltage is high, furnace materials are mainly melted by arc heat. So it also called as Arc Melting Furnace).

Main application of Small Submerged Arc Furnace:
1. Melt every kind of ferroalloy, such as ferrosilicon, ferrochrome, ferromanganese, ferronickel, industrial iron, sliicon-alumininm, calcium-silicon alloy, rare earth alloy, etc.
2. Extraction of some non-ferrous metals
A: Using copper sulfide concentrates to produce copper matte, Using nickel sulfide concentrate to produce low grade Nickel.
B: Reduction smelting of plumbum ore, tin ore, zinc ore to produce lead bullion, crude tin and crude zinc.

Submerged arc furnace is divided into stationary and tilting type submerged arc furnace according to furnace boy type.

Small capacity submerged arc furnace is generally for experiment. The small arc furnace is usually with DC power supply, single electrode and tilting type due to the restrictions of electrical conditions and crucible size.
The three-phase alternating current (ac) power supply is rectified with positive pole and negative pole output. The positive pole is connected to furnace bottom, while the negative pole is connected furnace top graphite electrode.
